Distribution of textbooks and teaching materials to primary schools in Babong.
The lack of school materials is a significant negative factor limiting efforts to raise awareness about the importance of education for children in Africa.
School materials are a luxury that many families can barely afford. When materials have been purchased, notebooks and books only last a few months, as most children have neither a school bag nor suitable protection.
With the "1Child-1SchoolSet" programme, Afrika-Solidarity works to strengthen access to education for severely disadvantaged children. School sets are assembled and distributed during volunteer visits or in partnership with teachers and parent representatives.
This material enables many children to start the school year successfully, eases the financial burden on parents and provides better conditions for attending school all year round.
Since 2013, Afrika-Solidarity purchases these school materials mainly from the local market, simultaneously supporting the local economy.
