Context and background.

The education sector in many African countries is built on four pillars: primary education, vocational training, secondary education and higher education. Unfortunately, a trend towards IT and new information technologies has not yet been recorded in any part of this educational environment.

The integration of IT and new information and communication technologies is not a priority of education policy, not even for universities. The main reason is that equipment costs for computers and accessories are too high compared to the weak economic level, and the required competence for meaningful use is mostly absent.

Project goal.

Development and training in the use of computers and new information technologies in educational institutions.

Activities.

  • Providing IT equipment to various pedagogical institutions
  • Formal introduction to IT for students using Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) — for reports, applications and CVs
  • General IT introduction for education administrators — for easier management
  • Game-supported introduction to IT for pupils — to stimulate and facilitate the discovery of the computer world among the youngest
