Context and background.

Clean drinking water is not a given in many rural regions of Cameroon. Contaminated water from rivers and streams causes severe diseases — especially among children, pregnant women and the elderly.

Project goal.

Long-term programme for drinking water supply in rural Cameroon — for sustainable access to clean water.

Activities.

• Well drilling in multiple regions
• Installation of solar-powered pump systems
• Construction of storage tanks and tap points
• Hygiene training for village communities
• Training local committees for independent maintenance
